CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Revere Health is celebrating a year of caring at their St. George multispecialty health center. The 68,000-square-foot facility, the first of its kind in the area, was designed to better serve the growing population of Southern Utah and has already provided nearly 330,000 patient visits since opening its doors.
Paul Broadhead, southern division administrator for Revere Health, said the new facility is another example of the group’s desire to expand, innovate and continue placing patient health above all else.
“The vision is to provide the right care at the right time in the right place,” he added. “Patients appreciate coming to one location and getting all those services done.”
The multispecialty health center offers a one-stop shop for comprehensive health care. Specialty services include orthopedics, cardiology, vein and vascular care, spine care and rehabilitation, family medicine, imaging, internal medicine and labs. In addition, urgent care facilities are open to walk-in patients from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
The facility currently serves more than 1,200 patients on a daily basis.
Revere Health is committed to improving patient outcomes, and Ann Raskin is one of many Southern Utahns who have experienced the benefits of the group’s team-based approach to health care. She visited their urgent care clinic in St. George with concerns about heart palpitations. The attending physician ordered an EKG and blood tests. When the lab work showed abnormal results, she was quickly referred to a cardiologist.
At Revere Health, referring physicians have immediate access to specialists, and patients are usually seen the same day or the next day. In Raskin’s case, she was diagnosed with 99% blockage in her right coronary artery and required three stents along with a fourth stent in her circumflex artery. The procedure was performed the following morning.
“I didn’t have to have heart surgery, and I’m as good as new,” she said. “How can I thank these doctors? They are forever in my heart – literally and figuratively.”
Scott Barlow, CEO of Revere Health, said that coordination of care for patients like Raskin has improved tremendously over the past year. The new facility provides an opportunity for patients to come in and have all of their needs addressed, regardless of the specialist or specialists they’re seeing. Physicians have complete access to medical records, allowing for greater efficiency.
Bringing multiple services together under the same roof has also enabled Revere Health to reduce costs in many areas, including surgery and imaging. The facility has two MRI machines and can provide imaging services at a much lower cost than traditional hospital settings.
Revere Health, founded in 1969, is a statewide network of physician-owned and physician-led clinics. The group practices value-based care, which aims to reverse the unsustainable trend of rising health care costs by incentivizing providers based on value and not volume of services. Physicians are not beholden to hospital and insurance interests, allowing them to be the best advocates for patients.
Along with the multispecialty health center, Revere Health continues to operate a family practice clinic in downtown St. George as well as centers for oncology and sleep disorders. The group also serves Southern Utah patients at clinics in Cedar City, Kanab, Richfield and Mesquite, Nevada.
